Jennicide Wins SCOOP-L Event, Liv Wins EPT, I win Stars Sunday HORSE facebook E-mail

Quick update as I am starving and about to feast after my victory.  If you haven't heard yet, Jennifer "Jennicide" Leigh won a SCOOP-L event! She takes down the $22 turbo limit event for over $11k.  Another hottie that won recently was Liv Boeree, who took down over $1M in an EPT event.  And just now, I won the Sunday $200 HORSE on 'Stars for a little over $5k.  I sold ~ 25% of it on CMU, with every $5 share winning $115.  Sole bought his first share of me ever on CMU, only 1 $5 share in this event... odd.

One of the problems with running a poker-facing website such as DonkDown is that Druff and can be a little lazy.  Recently two UB / AP security issues came up and while Druff was likely at least half way erect, he has not beaten back the throes of passion long enough to give you a complete write-up.  So I'm going to drop you the needful links, and then Druff is going to explain this shit for you in detail a bit later.  First, the old:  Check out Haley Hintze's blog for some amazing screenshots and further details from the AP side of the cheating scandal.  Now the new:  UB / AP security was basically a total joke until yesterday.  The self-proclaimed "strongest poker software in the world" was actually the weakest - up until *yesterday* the boys at PokerTableRatings (btw it's a fantastic site - you can get lost in the stats for hours) could have sniffed your hole cards, username, and password if you were on a wireless network and they were in close proximity.  Pretty wild - they could have sat at Commerce and just loaded up u's and p's until they were rich.  Really glad those guys are on the right team!  Druff will explain this better, I promise.  UPDATES:  UB says they read the internet and here is a bonus post from their blog in 2009 about security tips!

Free Consulting: What Is Wrong With Online Poker Sites facebook E-mail

Hi.  I'm Bryan Micon.  I've been playing online poker for over a decade.  Paradise poker account 11/99 username:  micon.  Today, with the re-launch of DonkDown 2.0 on the horizon, and with DonkDown 2.5: Headshot edition already in pre-production, I am going to hand out some totally 100% free consulting to a few online poker sites.  (note:  if any of the sites listed below wants a patch-man for the WSOP 2010 or to hire me as a consultant, I would do great work at either or both jobs)

1)  Pokerstars - easily the best online poker site.  Biggest, best customer service, seems to be the smartest.  One thing wrong:  Tournament chops.  PartyPoker showed the industry how it is supposed to be done in ~2005 when they came out with an automated chop system - all players must have a box ticked that says "Discuss Deal" - then the smart tourney chop screen comes up with all options to chop a tourney.  As of this writing to chop a tourney on 'Stars you must email support, and frequently players engage in "everyone sit out until the mod gets here" - which is so 2002.  'Stars - you have the most resources and the best programmers.  Bang this feature out for the players.

2) Merge Network - holy shit what are you thinking with the tourney lobby system?  open any other poker site, realize that each tourney must have their own lobby window, and fix the shits.  It is damn near 10 clicks to get to your tourney lobby from a Merge tourney table.  Anyone who has played knows what I'm talking about.  Luckily that only affects 8 readers

3) Cake Network - Creeping zombie jesus if I have to see another advertisement in the bottom right hand corner of my screen for another $2 + .20 PLO8 with rebuys $324 guaranteed tourney starting in 5 minutes I might start stabbing myself Artie Lange style.  (too soon?)  Also you never know where Cake network info boxes may pop up if you use more than 1 monitor.  Those sneaky little fuckers pop up all the time and you can't make an action on any table until you click "ok."  Another free Cake tip for players:  options --> display --> uncheck "Auto Focus Window."  It won't cure the "every-tourney-lobby-brought-to-the-front-whenever-you-click-fold" problem, that we'll have to wait for Cake to drop and option (holy shit please do this Cake - no other site brings any window to the front when you click an action)

/End Rant.  Time to pwn the Sunday Internets.

I guess we might have to rename the thread Barry Beats Micon in a Boxing Match... nah we'll leave it as is.  Click the Official Barry vs. Micon boxing thread for the bloody boxing video action you want.  Full vids done by DD'er Lawn Cigar who did a great job filming / editing and even cut short his low limit O8 session to get it all up there last night for the ravenous masses.  GG / Congrats to DirtyB, he won, but I get an honorable mention for bloodying him (although I'm def. feeling it more than him 1 day later IMO).  Oh, and I'm officially retiring from Boxing and going back to Poker and Poker Forums.
