what time are the games this week?

doubleheader, 7 and 8

We split 5-3 1-4

and i hearby resign from the team because little girl on the other team told me I was being too annoying for being vocal. This was either because:

1. I made sure the ump knew that a ball fielded by gank roughly 2 feet foul of the line was a foul ball, while at the same time half the other team was arguing that it was a fair ball because it landed in fair territory before bounced foul (the ball was about 15 feet down the line, not behind the base)

or

2. When I was coaching first I was screaming safe on close plays, I was doing this because in the first inning of the second game there were 2 close plays at first, well one not so close the person was blatantly out, but both were called indecisively safe by the ump who was clearly influenced by the first base coach on the other team who was in no position to even see if the ball was caught or bobbled, so I figured I might as well do the same

We somehow ended up as the 4th seed because for whatever reason 2 teams played 13 teams while the rest of the league had 12. Waka only recognizes 10 game seasons, so every team was supposed to drop 2 losses. However, since we lost our last game and the team in 4th won their last game, we finished 8-4, and that team finished 8-5, and for reasons that make no sense at all, Jeff (guy in charge) decided the fair thing to do was that the 2 teams that played an extra game would get to drop 3 losses while everyone else dropped 2, so our official waka records are both 8-2, and we split with them in regular season, and they won the tiebreaker for less runs allowed. I tried to explain to him that it makes no sense to let those 2 teams drop 3 losses and everyone else only 2, and that it makes absolutely no sense that somehow an 8-5 team could finish ahead of an 8-4 team, but Im pretty sure he just doesn't get it.

So anyway, we somehow went from a 1.5 game lead with 1 game to play to finishing behind that team, but either way, we play at 7 pm on thursday, against the team we lost to this past week. We do not have to ref the early game, if we lose in the first round 3 of us have to ref the next game, if we win we likely play the #1 seed gold team, who we beat in the walkoff game on the dark field that I managed. Be there 6:45 if possible, barry won't be there, and vegas probably wont be there, so it looks like ill be managing.

Well, donkdown kickball is over, at least for now. We were upset in our first game (second round) 8-2 in a very similar game as the one last year, sloppy defense combined with not so good umping and no clutch hits for us.

I talked to Jeff after the game, he said he still doesn't know if there will be a winter season, they won't find out about fields until december, so i assume the season would start after new years, I talked to the girls and they were interested in keeping the team together if we play again, if and when they figure out the field situation we'll figure out who wants to play again. If vegas doesn't want to play I'll volunteer to take over as captain since I should be around basically every week.

Sorry to hear about the loss. We had a great season though. Lot to build on. I will most likely be down with playing again, but I don't want to be captain anymore, just not really fun for me, I'd rather just play.

I know scotty said that Barry auto-assigned me to the all-star game (LOL @ all-star games for kickball) next week, but there is literally no chance I will be playing in that. If anyone wants to play in my spot they are more than welcome. I know we mentioned it to Steve and he said he was interested so if he still wants to play then it is all his. Just putting it out there in case anyone really didn't get enough kickball during the regular season.

so, according to the email jeff sent today, which i know a lot of people don't read, there is going to be a "winter" season, starting on feb 3rd
