Most of the discussion on the UltimateBet scandal has faded away. Until the next Wicked Chops article or Haley Hintze blog comes out, I figued I would attempt to keep the discussion going. The release of the list of the cheaters names really did not bring out much discussion, probably b/c it appears nothing will ever happen to them from a legal standpoint. The list of cheating accounts and names, many of which were fake. List of 23 Account Names with screen names

It was brought to my attention that one of the named UB cheaters participated in the 2010 WSOP Main Event. The person’s name on the named cheating accounts that played in the Main Event was Rebecca Makar.




For those who are not familiar with the the UB Scandal Rebecca is the mother of Travis Makar and mother in law of Lauren Makar, who is the wife of Travis. Rebecca, Lauren, and Travis all had cheating accounts in their names. Lauren and Travis also had sold a house to Russ Hamilton. Barry Greentstein also confirmed that when people would ask Russ for money on UB, transfers sometimes came from the account Sleeplesss.

Travis Makar - User ID – 16054 –aka- FireNTexas, FlatBroke33, and ilike2win
Lauren Makar - User ID – 227061 –aka- GrabBag123, NoPaddles, nvtease, and Sleeplesss
Rebecca Makar - UserID – 3126267 – aka – monizzzle, and whowherewhen

Rebecca is is also close with Charles “Woody” Moore, as they travel the tournament circuit together. Woody is a close friend of Russ Hamilton, likely met Becky via Travis. Old Russ Hamilton Roast, Woody was a guest, as was other named UB cheater Dennis Novinskey

Woody states he had known Becky for atleast 5 years, so they could have likely met sometime around 2003 or 2004. Also, Bluff Magazine's website had an old profile of Becky Makar in which she listed both Russ Hamilton and Woody Moore as Poker players she respected most.

Anyway, this is pretty outrageous that these blatant cheaters are still showing their face in public.

Too bad she didn't show up at any of my tables. I would have let everyone know exactly who she is and her relation to the now-"tarped" Russ Hamilton.

Did she make Day 2? I would have been glad to track her down and tell everyone at her table where she got the $ to buy in to the event.

The Makars were definitely very willing accomplices in all of this. Whether they actually operated any superuser accounts is irrelevant. They were very close to Russ, and their names were used to get money off the site.

Also LOL @ her Facebook page where she tries to come off like a kind, older woman who is excited about playing the Main Event.

Amazing how people can steal large sums of money and then go on living life like average, run-of-the-mill human beings.

I bet if the Makars ever got busted for their part in this, they'd claim that they were just doing a favor for Russ and had no idea they were stealing!

Shortly after the KGC Final Report came out, a poster claiming to be Jim Makar left a comment on Pokerati.


The same day, it appear he also created an account on 2+2 called nvtease, which is also a cheating account name tied to Lauren Makar. It would appear that this guy Jim is indeed legit. He claims to be the son of Rebecca Makar and the brother of Travis. Here are the posts he made on 2+2 as a recap in case anyone may have missed them, I will just re-post most of his stuff here.










A 2+2 poster Quoted one of Jim’s posts “there is a lot more involved then just taking some money” and asked, Money Laundering?” to which Jim replied “Oh Yea”

As far as i can tell the reporting on this with any substanial new information revolves around Haley and Wickedchops. Elevengrover albeit with a different agenda to the aforementioned and yourself somewhere in between.

Are there any other potential posters who can add content/ contribute or should i be resigned to this being investigated by 3 dedicated individuals and 1 organisation. I ask this as an interested observer who values all contributions ?

I am not suprised to read this. I final tabled a small buy in tournament in Mesquite, NV with this woman.

I forgot everybody in this tournament BUT Rebecca Makar as she was the filthiest, nastiest, old cocky bitch I have ever met. She had a huge chip on her shoulder and left the strong impression on me that playing such an event was beneath her.

The tournament was part of a series of bi annual tournaments ran by Linda Johnson and Jan Fisher. They are chummy chummy buddy buddy fest's of all their old geriatric friends and of course jan fishers lesbian entourage fan club. Linda Johnson the founder of the Tournament Director Association and calls Russ Hamiltion the number one person she looks up to in poker and a hero. I certainly find it funny a person who's job it is to maintain game integrity calling Russ Hamilton a fucking hero!?!?! I am sure he invested in something she did so I guess she still has to kiss his ass.

Someone (not me) already did that in 2009. Against Russ and four others connected to UB, and it was done with suspect motives. I might blog about that whole episode someday but it's rather off topic on what the real focus of my efforts is and continues to be, which is to out the many cheaters behind both of the cheating scandals, along with other felonious shenanigans which have yet to see the light of day.

I had some family and personal issues to deal with the past few weeks but I expect to post a new blog in just a couple or three days, outing a new name previously not connected to any of these scandals. Just this morning I sent this person a copy of my planned next post and gave him/her 48 hours to respond, though of course it's highly unlikely I'll hear anything.
