Just getting around to reading this (saw it through DN's tweet). Damn, very interesting stuff here. I don't really pay attention to this kind of stuff anymore but man, it was really a good read. No homo either.
(ok, as always, some homo)

just listened to the interview with Travis Makar. WOW
He sounds totally legit. Near the end of the interview he said he doubts anyone involved will face legal action.
I'm assuming he means with regards to the actual cheating. Is it now more to do with money laundering and tax evasion?

BTW props to the 2+2 Pokercast guys for giving us credit.
These guys aren't bad. Too bad their boss is Herr Malmuth, or otherwise we might be able to have some cooperation between our shows.

Seems to me that the cheated will have to go through Canadian courts to get their money back. If Excapsa already settled for the 15 mil, evidence of further cheating(Makar) could get a judge to reopen the case despite the ruling that says no more claims ____________________________________________________ Excapsa's Liquidator Announces Settlement MONTREAL, Canada, November 11 /PRNewswire/ -- XMT Liquidations Inc. ("XMT"), the court-appointed liquidator of 6356095 Canada Inc. (formerly known as Excapsa Software Inc., "Excapsa"), today announced that Excapsa had completed a settlement with Blast Off Limited ("Blast Off"), the owner of the Ultimatebet online gaming sites. Pursuant to the settlement, which was approved by the holders of more than two-thirds of Excapsa's outstanding shares and by the Ontario courts, Excapsa paid US $15 million to Blast Off in return for a full and final release of all claims relating to the allegations of cheating on the Ultimatebet websites. In addition, Excapsa acquired an ownership interest in all gaming software owned by Blast Off and its subsidiaries Mr. Sheldon Krakower, the President of XMT, said: "Our primary goal throughout these negotiations was to restart payments under Blast Off's promissory note and avoid lengthy and costly litigation. The settlement accomplished this objective. Excapsa is a company in liquidation, so our focus is on maximizing recoveries for its shareholders. We are hopeful that the gaming software will provide opportunities to generate further value for Excapsa's shareholders." Mr. Krakower went on to say: "Our investigations have confirmed that the tool which enabled the cheating on the Ultimatebet sites was inserted before Excapsa purchased the software code from a third party in 2005. We do not believe that the directors or officers of Excapsa had any knowledge of the tool and, importantly, there was absolutely no admission of liability or wrongdoing pursuant to the settlement. We are currently evaluating options for recovery of the costs and damages incurred by Excapsa in connection with the settlement including, possibly, pursuing legal action against the perpetrators of the cheating and prior owners of the software code." Information relating to the settlement is available at http://www.wsbg.com/en/liquidation.html. For further information: Sheldon Krakower, XMT Liquidations Inc. c/o WSBG L.L.P., 1155, boul. Glad this is getting out in the poker media. This quote from the PNews piece is incorrect (and the same mistake I made initially in my Cliff's above): "Makar claimed that Legett paid Rozsa $80,000 not to release the information." Makar did not claim that. He claimed that Legett *offered* Rozsa $80,000, and Rozsa said it was not enough. Makar also claimed that Rozsa received a lot more than $80,000, but did not specify who paid him. When we met Makar, he showed us 2 receipts showing payments of around $6,000 each to Rozsa. He had blacked out the sender's name on these receipts. He also said many more payments were made, sometimes even in person in cash. Haley Hintze's blog states that Russ Hamilton paid Rozsa on at least 2 occasions.

http://www.parttimepoker.com/pokerstars-pro-foucault-details-shadiness-at-ub-com
Andrew “Foucault” Brokos, who was recently named a PokerStars pro, detailed a recent incident at UB.com that is the latest in a line of problems encountered by players at the online poker site.
Long story short, money that should have been in Brokos account was not in his account until he contacted UB support.
An e-mail Brokos sent to support acts as a pretty good set of Cliff’s Notes on the entire story:
Thank you, I was able to log in successfully today. Unfortunately, there seems to be $1040.26 missing from my account. Allow me to explain:
Several years ago, I decided to stop playing on UB. I cashed out my balance, deleted the software from my computer, and never logged in again.
Yesterday, quite by accident, I found an e-mail in spam folder informing me that I had a balance of $1040.26 in my account. This e-mail is dated 2/19/2010, but because it was caught by my spam filter, I never saw it until now. I am assuming that this was a refund I was issued in connection with the cheating that occurred on UB.
Upon logging it in today, I find that I have a balance of $0.
Obviously, I would like to know what happened to the $1040.26. If you could please look into this and get back to me, I would greatly appreciate it.
Brokos said the money was in his account the next day, with no reason given as to why it wasn’t there in the first place. Upon pressing the issue, UB support told him that the money was “on hold” because his account had been inactive.
UB.com and the Cereus Network have long been at the center of controversy in online poker, most notably a superuser scandal in 2007 in which accounts at the site (including the infamous POTRIPPER account) were able to see every player’s hole cards in games of no-limit hold’em.
Brokos said he thought the $1K in his account may have been a refund for funds lost to one of those superuser accounts, but he said he has not yet received a response about where the funds came from originally.
