Very small, not bad though. Fun for a day if you're not really into skiing or boarding. If you want something challenging and worthwhile you either go to Brian Head, Utah (aprox 3 hour drive) or Mammoth Mountain in Cali (aprox 5 hour drive).

Here's the link to Mt. Charleston in case you need it....

It's definitely worth the drive to brian head if you've skied decent places before.

Former pro snowboarder, moved to vegas from Lake Tahoe. I lived in vegas for about a year and a half. I drove to Brianhead a few times and rode Charleston a bunch.

Charleston is a really fun park spot in the spring. When its soft out the jumps are fun. Nothing too big. Also there are a lot of fun little jibs, stumps, trees, etc to hit on the sides of the trails. I've heard the hiking above the resort is really good but i never hit it.

Brianhead is a better mountain for freeriding and powder stuff. It's better but not that good. Pretty low angle stuff with a few hidden gems. The park was pretty weak but I never hit it in the spring when it would be more relevant.

Overall it depends on how serious you are and what kind of riding/skiing you need to get your fix. Overall you can have fun around the vegas mountain but mammoth is going to be way better, for both park and freeriding, than charleston or brianhead.

Looked at the Brainhead map:

http://www.brianhead.com/pdf/BrianHead- ... %20Res.pdf

Looks like it's about comparable to the southern CA resorts like Snow Summit.

I would suggest making the extra 2 hour drive to Mammoth. The place is huge and it's the most popular resort in California/Nevada.

I am a skier, though, not a boarder. Too tall and too old to be any good at boarding.
