The PPV is this Saturday (February 25th in the USA or February 26th in Japan where it's held at).

The card is posted below and in my opinion it has some real potential to be great.

They need to get crazy PRIDE lady signed to a one event deal pronto.




It's saddening these two are prelimmers on a SEVEN FIGHT MAIN CARD IN JAPAN...though understandable, I suppose.

im on edgar big suprised he still gets no respect from the lines makers I also like pettis to win fairly easily.

Yup, would rather these guys be main card, and Hioki and Okami on undercard.

Gomi and Kid have not put on good performances.

Okami is a perennial belt contender.

If I were to have an mma lock of the year it would be on Benson Henderson. Hes as well rounded as a fighter as anyone in mma. He has no weakness. The only downside I see at all for him in this fight is he cuts alot of weight, and going to another country just isnt good for weight cutting. Edgar on the other hand cuts a few pounds so thats an advantage for him. Other then that BH is way to big, strong all well rounded not to beat FE. Im going out on a limb to say it doesnt make it past the 1st round.

As some of you know I have trained with Anthony pettis so Im biased but I think he will be rematching BH for the UFC title. He is just insanely good in every aspect his biggest weakness was wrestling, but hes been training it non stop since guida fight with Ben Askren another WI stud.I do really like JLO though but a guy with the nickname JLO is just to gay for me.

I think Bader is worth putting a little something on its pretty clear hes going to outwrestle Rampage and win a decision.

I'll put some numbers on my picks to clarify them a bit like in other sports. My plays are almost always dogs anyone can pick favorite winners.
With a 5 being a goy type play and 1 being an opinion if you wanna pick a side type of play.

Id also put action on Vaughn Lee simply because betting on Kid to lose is somehow profitable.

I think Shields is a consummate professional so Im not real concerned with his headspace... plus Akiyama just looks terrible in general. I seriously think he requested this fight because he doesnt have to worry about his face getting busted up. Id love to see a active, aggressive Akiyama stifle Shields with judo slickness, to the point where its worth losing money on Shields, but life is rarely so sweet.

Even if you hadnt rolled with Bendo Id say no one could be faulted for betting him here, I just cant get behind betting against Edgar. Im always leery of betting on a thin dog after they fight someone whose style exaggerates their strengths. If he was like, +195 or better Id really consider it, but Edgar is just so good and so fundamentally underrated.. thats just not a fight I personally would invest in with this line, or Id put thin action on Edgar because Im not sure Bendo can keep him down long enough to really capitalize..

You know who I think is an interesting play? Joe Lauzon at +195. If only that line wasnt against Pettis...

I am actually disappointed in this card being put forth as the return to Japan card. Kid/Gomi should be able to steal fight of the night if they go at it like they used to fight. I'm looking forward to Boetsch/ Okami a lot because Boetsch has been looking like a beast since dropping to middle weight.

Edgar/Henderson should be fast paced and entertaining, but that's about it. Shields will get Akiyama down and lay on him for 15 minutes. I'll even go against the grain and predict that Hunt/Kongo will be a snooze fest with both of them gassing out in the first round.

Kid and Gomi arent fighting eachother.

Wow I guess you need some guys from the ultimate fighter to make a good card because this card is insane top to bottom

Shields has lost 2 straight and his father died. They said hes getting back on track but who knows for sure. Not sure why everyone is saying Edgar is so good, He outboxed a washed bj Penn, and barely beat a 1 dimensional fighter in Gray who is so overrated. Frankies to small to have a chance in this fight. BH isnt going to try to outbox him. Its a big mismatch and I'd be shocked if Edgar makes it to the 2nd round

I will reserve my full retort for after the ppv. Mark my words this card looks good on "paper", but there are only 3 fights that will end up being worth a fuck. Those being Edgar/Henderson, Lauzon/Pettis, and Boetsch/Okami.

Not relevant to this weekend but here is a little update on the Nick Diaz testing positive for Mary Jane update:

Well thats 2 more then boxing. How fights turn out has nothing to do with how good the card is. It has alot of good interesting matchups. The best actual fights usually come from 2 unknowns. You could have Anderson Silva vs gsp and it could turn out to be a 30 sec knockout its mma who knows.

In all fairness, card is useless with Pat Barry.
