when is a good time to straddle? and are there different types? I am asking because I am relatively new to live play and got the evil eye when I raised somebodies straddle when I had pp kk. like I went against protocol

Limit or no limit? In my opinion, for what it's worth, you should never limp into someone's straddle in a no limit game. You should either raise or fold.
