Kid has flown under the radar for so long. I hate to admit that he was a product of NWP... or at least that's where he got his start.

He has victimized some big names in poker, such as John Juanda, Matt Hawrlienko, and many others. He even got out (former) own Dustin "neverwin" Woolf.

The weirdest thing about Steve is that he doesn't have an exit strategy. He never comes up with a realistic way to get the money offline. He has stolen many hundreds of thousands of dollars, yet has gotten little or nothing out of it. He really just does it before he's such a degenerate that he craves high limit action.

Where did the money go? He usually ends up losing it back to legitimate players in high limit games, so it's unrecoverable.

I can't believe nobody has tracked down this kid and taught him a lesson.

We had a name and at least one address in West Virginia. You can try searching old threads.

His general M/O is to impersonate known pros, ask for money trades, and then obviously not send his part.

He also hacks accounts by going after ones registered to AOL accounts. He has (or had) unlimited access to anyone's AOL account, so he would simply request a forgotten password and get it from the AOL account. That's how he got Juanda and Dustin. This even gave him more legitimacy in his impersonations. For example, he once showed up as "john_juanda1" on Cake and asked to trade 2k. He offered to sit with any amount on a Full Tilt table as John Juanda to "prove" he was really John. Someone almost fell for it, but I warned them and ruined the scam. Steve got mad and told me to mind my own business!

I had a run in with him on Cake a few years back. I was playing short handed 10/20 LH and he came to the chat with a username almost identical to a player playing 50/100 He was asking me to do a FTP transfer with him saying I should know he's good for it because he's currently playing 50/100. Anyways I figured it out and the guy starts telling me he's steve the pimp blah blah blah and he will get me eventually.

The funny part of it was is that I went into the 50/100 chat and told the guy hey you might want to know theirs a guy impersonating you etc. and he got all piseed at me for even bringing it up.

Steve Da Pimp Scams were pretty bad and how people fell for them is truly lolz. Like Druff said he had no exit strategy, kinda like the USA war in Afghanistan.

It wouldn't happen to be steve garrett would it? This guy scammed me out of 30$, on paypal, hopefully paypal will resolve it, but still, the guy spent hours, and hours just to get 30$ - the paypal fee lol
