Let me start by saying I had small money on Wisconsin. Yeah the same Wisconsin who decided to spike the ball with no time left. So that was just a starting my day!
Fast forward to last night; I take Oklahoma State and the over. I bet a $30 two teamer so if I win I get $75. Oklahoma State scores the TD in overtime and I win the money!! But wait, the play is reviewed and the guy was actually tackled at the ½ yard line. OMG, they are going to kick it, wait the offense is out on the field, holy hell they just purposefully ran 5 yards back and kneeled it, maybe the FG gets blocked, nope, wait a penalty flag, crap its on the D.
Yeah, so that’s how my night ended. Instead of winning $75, I lose $30. FML. And I know at least two guys that lost A LOT more then I did, on the same scenario. One of the guys also had a big chunk on Wisconsin

If it makes you feel any better I had Oregon -5 and Stanford/OSU over 75 yesterday, so I won both of those games.
But I also took the Jazz -7, so I lost one.

Dont know what you are talking about. Its quite easy to turn a few hundred into 30k. I've done it a few times this year. And, I just won ~$2800 in vegas this weekend.

The amount bet wasn't the relevant factor to his statement "sports betting is for fools". It was the fact you cannot control the outcome and somewhat insignificant factors lead to wins/losses on bets. Right on. I disagree with the topic title, I think the winning thought process is that sports betting *out of one's means OR with the assumption of victory* is for fools. Most people lose.
