read this: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/163/s ... ed-789833/where HIV sold alot of himself for WSOP. He was saying at X's house, schedule to play more tourneys including the main... but recently he mysteriously left claiming "family emergency" but what the boys here in Vegas think happened is he shot off $10's of K's online, then chased those losses and likely busto'd the entire stake-roll. We'll see what happens but there was a reported -$16k or so HIV shoot online a few days ago, in high limit 8-game (untracked by Ptableratings, I can't find record of it / post here if you can) So, it looks like 2+2 stakers ---> other info: -- sold more % of himself once got here, will be investigating if he TJ'd some ppl here -- also traded % for housing earlier in series HIV, you broke my heart kiddo! bonus thread: old school Druff vs. HIV: pokerstars-iamhiv-has-the-coolest-slumber-parties-t28664.html

Typical internet douchebag imo.....He comes to Vegas....sells almost all of himself(That right there tells you he is a bad investment or should have raised the ROLLED ALARM)

At least now he's eligible to be a mod on 2+2.

I'm pretty sure that's the number I was told. I know he was buried for a couple days and that things weren't going well. I wasn't sure if he had run up his own funds or using stakers money to play that high. We hung out a few different times. Too bad for everybody involved. Pretty fucked up.

i hope hiv will come clean, refund what he has left and figure out a payment plan, even if it takes a long time to pay it off
was a little concerned when i picked him up at the airport right before wsop started and he had only $20 (literally) and no cell phone because he hadn't paid the bill in ages

yeah I remember his thread on 2p2 selling pieces of himself, was trying to sell like 85%+ of himself at a markup to basically freeroll. I was thinking rolling waiting to happen at the time.

He was very talented at bumming rides, that's for sure. After I busted out of 1.5k HORSE I passed him in the hallway, he asks what happened, I said I busted, he replied something like 'sweet justice I need a ride back and don't want to pay for a cab.'
Great.

Disappointing. While I had some issues with HIV in the past, they were just stupid Pokerstars chat fights, which I eventually stopped having because I realized I was arguing with someone almost young enough to be my son. I came to realize that it was just an immature kid who loved attention, and I shouldn't take anything he said seriously. I saw him a few times early this WSOP, and he acted very pleasant with me. We didn't even bring up our issues in the past, and I felt it was just stupid internet bullshit anyway. I am a bit confused, though. HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?! That is, where did the kid get the money to play on Stars? Were his backers really stupid enough to give him a lump sum of money to buy into the WSOP? If so... Sounds like it was a disaster waiting to happen. With so many 2+2ers in town for the Series, it would have been easy to provide money on an as-needed basis for each event. That is, ship him the exact amount of the buyin (plus a little bit for living expenses) for each event he wants to play, no more than one day before each event. At worst, you get rolled for the cost of one event, and you keep him at the $2500-and-below events. Sure you still run the additional risk of being TJ'd (that is, having him sell more than 100% of himself, to where he intentionally loses), but at least you protect yourself from having him shoot off the money all at once. This story sounds like they just gave him a bunch of money, said, "Go play", and he then traded it for Stars $ and shot it off. Bad.

Even more so because I got a report that he barely showered while there, and always smelled bad. Maybe he should have been Jewdonk's roommate.

Since I'm not exactly a well known 2+2 poster (mostly an NVGtard) maybe I should give references/brags too. I'm Quaternion on pretty much every site, and I'll play anybody (except Hoss) at limit holdem. Feel free to check tableratings or any of the "Top n players" threads in the High Stakes Limit Holdem forum.
I'm taking 7 shares, and may well decide to take another 6 before we get rolling
This dude is old school NWP right?
I find the last sentence ironic.
Hope he decided against the additional 6 shares.

He isn't really old-school NWP. He posted a handful of times. He just wasn't that much of a forum guy. For whatever reason, Quaternion got on a staking kick this summer. At least the dude is rich and can absorb the loss, though obviously the situation is very shitty.

My understanding was that the investors simply shipped all buyins on stars. While he didn't ask me (since everybody knows I'm broke) I know he did do his fair share of asking to buy cash for online money. As far as I know that's how he virtually got in every event.
