If this has been discussed fuck you.
Ivey and Pavin are playing golf at Summerlin, 10k per hole. Ivey gets to play from the front tees (5200 yardsish) and Pavin has to play from the back tees (7100?). Ivey gets to scramble with 3 balls and his handicap is around 17.
Anyone think Ivey has a chance? I think he is going to get burned.

Ive played with Phil in the past.... and hes gotten much better recently.......
Id, personally, take that bet in a heartbeat (the 3-ball scramble, that is).
The 2+2 guys were right........ theres a HUGE difference between the 2 and 3-ball scramble.

I like Pavin in this bet. Phil being a 17 cap will put him shooting around shooting mid 70's.
The chances of Phil shooting:
Even - 20% (He'd have to play good)
+3-7 - 80%
I don't think he will shoot much higher than 77. Its gonna be incredibly easy for him to around the greens since he gets 3 shots each time. Who knows...but I like Pavin here. You'd have to think that Phil needs to shoot at least even par to have a chance here.

I'd still take Tiger, because there's obv a big gap in ability. But then again, in a 3 ball solo scramble, a scratch golfer is easily breaking 60, so I retract my statement.

Do you honestly believe that a scratch golfer will break 60 using 3 balls around most courses? I could certainly believe that anything under 6500 but I think most championship courses they would have a lot of difficulty breaking 60.

I played in a 3 man scramble with my partner back home before and one of our guys didnt make it. So we got to hit an extra shot (on each shot). We shot -21. This was on a Championship Course. I'd imagine it would be extremely easy if I could hit 3 balls each time.

This is not meant to be an insult but there is not a championship course in the whole of Scotland you and a partner playing off roughly scratch could break 60 on scrambling. I would wager even against 3 of you being able to do it. I guess I forgot how easy target golf is 8O

Yeah, chamionship golf over here is basically perfect greens, perfect lies in the fairway EVERY time, consistent rough. Makes it pretty easy when everything is consistently perfect.
