The 'cock bombing' actually started in 2003 from a site called http://www.skatzpoker.com/forums/index.php. This was retaliation for a feud that started between Neverwin and a "Skatz" regular that lost approx $400-500 to Neverwin. The forums had a rivalry going as far back as 2001 when Neverwin was playing at Pacific Poker with an open challenge to anyone that could beat him at heads-up 5-10 limit.

I also realize that you made the photoshop on the front page there, so obviously you don't want to see all of that work for naught. (Good job on that, though! You've improved a lot over the years.)

I don't want to be on the front page of Marty's site because he is being a complete prick about the whole thing. We generously allowed him to advertise here (something we never did for boris), and he thanked us by begging longtime users like Heeb not to post on our site anymore and be "exclusive" to his shithole.

So just before I had to go eat my steak-and-lobster dinner, I heard Marty utter some bullshit about tydepoker's Alexa (web-tracking) stats blowing us away.

donkdown.com has been up for 13 days. tydepoker has been up for 6 days. boris has been up for about 2 years, but only actively used for the past year. NWP has been up for 5 1/2 years, but has no forum or real content anymore.

Marty thinks donkdown is a ghost town, while his lovely site is killing us traffic-wise. He cited Alexa as his source.

Now time for a reality check.

TRAFFIC RANK describes the ranking of the site's traffic compared to all other sites in the world. Google is ranked #1, and it goes down from there. Here is the graph for the past week for the 4 sites:



Notice that boris and tydepoker don't even show up. Donkdown is on a steady rise up. NWP is still showing up because of its prominence in search engines and Lithuanian SEO tricks, but as you can imagine, most of that traffic is junk. Note that donkdown does not have any SEO tricks yet, and in fact we show up poorly on google searches at the moment.



Next... Pageviews. This is similar to traffic, except it ranks the total number of pageviews on the site, compared to the rest of the sites in the world.



Notice donkdown steadily increasing, and sitting substantially above the other 3.


Finally, bounce rate. Bounce rate refers to the percentage of users who see just a single page and close the site. Bouncing is a sign that the user thinks the site sucks, and has no interest in actually doing anything there.



Well, look at that! Only 10% of donkdown's traffic bounces, while 25-30% run off from boris and tyde. NWP has the highest bounce rate because their traffic is just SEO-driven garbage.

These are the real stats for the past week. I am not skewing or hand-selecting anything. Go check them yourself if you want.

Once again, Marty is a big liar.

It was posted earlier today. I forgot to update the thread when I did it. Still trying to automate the archive of it and should have it figured out by next week. I know people depend on DonkDown radio to get through their day (I know I used to depend on it before I was involved), so I will do my best to have it ready. I apologize that its in two parts and hopefully tonight will combine them. Thats the reason the rest of the shows in the archive are not back up because many of them are multiple files and I really wanted to fix them. Thats the ugly perfectionist in me, coming out..

One other question - do people have OGG file-type players? If so, the archive could be immediately automated. WinAMP can play them (with a plugin, i believe). Basically, on the server it stores it as an OGG file and right now I have to download it, convert it to MP3 and reupload it. Let me know if I should publish the OGG file (which is also smaller in size).
