Anybody play fantasy MMA sit n go style at Kountermove.com ?
I see they have 2,800 members so far. I haven't joined yet, but think it might be fun.
They have private games that can be set up, if enough people would be interested we could have a DonkDown league.



Here's how to play....
1) Pick a Game: You will simultaneously select (1) the “Entry Fee”, from a choice of free games or various cash games, and (2) the size of the opponent pool you wish to play in.
2) Draft Your Team of Fighters: You then draft a team of 5 fighters, under a salary cap of $25,000 in fake money. You may edit your team of fighters at any time right up until the first preliminary bout of the event begins.
3) Score points and win cash (or play for free!):
Kountermove determines a fighter’s fantasy score as follows. A first-round win (by knockout, submission, DQ, or other) earns 100 points, second-round win earns 75 points, and third, fourth, or fifth-round wins, again by knockout, submission, DQ, or other, earn 50 points. Rounds won (win-by-decision fights only, two out of three judges required) earn 10 points each.
In addition, fighters earn fantasy points for Significant Strikes Landed (.5 points each), Takedowns (2 points each), Submission Attempts (3 points each), Knockdowns (3 points each), and Dominant Positions (2 points each). Like other fantasy sites, Kountermove awards zero points to players who draft a fighter who scratches or an entire fight that scratches because of injury, illness, or any other reasons.

Sounds interesting if the buy in isn't too much. I'm not big on loading too much money on sites that I don't know a lot about.

I would think if we could get at least 6 guys we could make a go of it, start small $$ for a couple events just to get a feel for the scoring system.

ya i have no interest in playing fro large amounts of money on sketchy sites. Just nice to get a fun league going.

Must be pretty legit, sounds like Randy Couture and Extreme Couture are part owners. I am surprised I just found out about it today, it says they opened it up April of 2009.

I wouldn;t assume any site that takes online bets is legit based on association with a single individual. Most of the time those guys just serve as figureheads. Look at Doyles' room, UB, FTP, Eurolinx, victory poker, or many others who all had strong ties to well known and respected individuals. The guys listed as figureheads for the sites rarely pull the strings or have any push.

That being said I have no problem depositing small amounts of money on this site.

Well this is kind of gay, I set up a private 5 man, but to join it I have to invite you by email......thought it would just be passworded......... but the cool thing is for every new player that excepts my invite , and deposits and plays -I get $25.

So what I can do is for the 4 others I can Paypal you the $25 once I get it for your join so you would be basically freerolling ?

Sweet, before you paypal us though I'd suggest you make sure you can get the cash out from the site without problem.
