Not sure if this has been asked here before, but would like Druff's opinion:

I've always been an online NL tournament player, but would like to possibly play live Limit cash games. In your opinion, is $3/$6 beatable ($4 rake/$1 jackpot)? If not, what should be the minimum stake where skill should start prevailing at a winnable rate? If it is beatable, what is a good hourly return?

The reason I ask is because I was stuck on one of these tables waiting for a NL game to begin and the players were just horrible. It seemed like the swings would be easier to handle emotionally, but I wasn't sure if the game could be beaten considering you usually had 4 or 5 guys in the hand post flop.

I'd like to hear Druff's opinion on this as well.
My own anecdotal evidence (small sample size) is that the 3-6LHE game (for example, @ Borgata) is definitely beatable because of the ridiculously passive play -- i.e., you can maximize value when you have the best of it but minimize losses when you don't or are unsure. The large rake still doesn't seem to negate the 2-3 players putting money in preflop and on the flop who shouldn't have been in there in the first place.
