Damn that sucks.. http://www.gambling911.com/poker/jonath ... 22211.html | | | | Quote: Jonathan Duhamel WSOP Bracelet Stolen in Home Invasion
Jonathan Duhamel, last year’s World Series of Poker Main Event winner, became the victim of a brutal home invasion Wednesday. Two masked men forced their way into his home in a suburb of Montreal, beating up Duhamel and getting away with his diamond encrusted WSOP bracelet.
His agent, Yves Bouchard, told the media that Duhamel was released from the hospital and is doing fine.
“He’s recovering,” Bouchard told Bloomberg News. “Obviously, he took a beating, but nothing is broken.”
The attack occurred in the quaint Montreal suburb of Boucherville.
Also taken were a Rolex watch given to the 24-year-old by PokerStars.com in honor of his tournament win along with an undisclosed amount of cash. It was not immediately known Duhamel had been targeted or if the home invasion was a random attack.
Duhamel had won $8.9 million in last year’s WSOP event. He is the first Canadian to have achieved such an honor.
This story is obviously quite fluid right now and developments will be posted on the Gambling911.com website as warranted.

http://www.gambling911.com/poker/world- ... 22211.html | | | | Quote: World Series of Poker Champ Jonathan Duhamel Hospitalized After Brutal Home Invasion
The 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event winner, Jonathan Duhamel, was released from a hospital after being attacked during a home invasion Wednesday.
The crime occurred at his home outside Montreal in the Boucherville borough, which is known to have a relatively low crime rate.
Duhamel’s agent confirmed that two men had forced their way into his client’s home after first ringing the doorbell.
Duhamel’s injuries were said to be minor and it was not immediately clear what, if anything, the robbers were able to escape with.
“Let’s say that getting out of bed will be particularly hard tomorrow and that his Christmas photos won’t be the prettiest,” the pro’s agent, Philippe Jette, said.
“But Jonathan got out without serious injuries.”
Detectives are trying to determine if Duhamel, who won US$8.9 million last year, was targeted by the robbers.
Police released a description of one of the suspects but little further details were known at the time of this writing Thursday December 22, 2011.
"The investigation is still ongoing," said police spokesman Mark David.
Both attackers were described as white men. One of them is five-foot-eight and weights 180 pounds. More details were said to be forthcoming Thursday afternoon.

I'm not a Canadian or anything, but pretty sure you're wrong. Pass a safety course, get a license, then buy your gun. No harder than getting a driver's license, and pretty much everyone has one of those.

I bet that you're all wrong and that the bracelet was insured for a ton of cash and he gave it to his mom in Pacoima for safe keeping while he collects on his 'loss'.

i meant its not as easy as the states. like where i live there is no waiting period whatsoever. go to store buy a pistol and box of ammo and walk out of store. just meant what you said, you have to take safety a longer safety course for handguns.

i highly doubt he got the braclet insured except under whatever his home insurance is. its not worth anything really except to him i wouldnt be surprised in the least if they stole 200k in cash from his house either. doubt he or the police would put out a notice regarding the 500 euro notes if it wasnt substaintial these guys will be caught because they wont be able to keep their mouths shut...thats just the way it goes. well that and they broke the cardinal rule of leaving someone alive who can finger you

Comment on 26 Dec 2011 15:48 Why are you talking shit about avatars when your new one is horrible?
I agree. But the ones where it made it obvious she is a pornstar didn't work when I tried.
I'll change it when you make it so I don't have to see fucking JT on this site. Christ a Jonathan Taylor Thomas avatar would be better.

The Rolex watch stolen from the poker champion Jonathan Duhamel few days before Christmas ... ended up in Beauce on the wrist of an individual who was charged yesterday with two alleged accomplices.
According to court documents, the Journal obtained a copy, André Robert Perron, 26, of Pierrefonds, was seen with the watch in the village of St. Clair, in the Beauce, a few days after the flight.
He appeared at the Longueuil courthouse yesterday afternoon. According to court documents, the Journal has learned, he is accused of "having in his possession a watch worth more than $ 5 000, knowing that this thing had been obtained from the commission in Canada , an offense punishable by indictment. "
Couple of suspected thieves
Two alleged accomplices, Bianca Rojas-Latraverse, 20, of Saint-Sauveur, Stephan Clark and John Lemay, 22, of Pointe-Claire, have in turn been accused of robbery, break and enter, unlawful confinement, of assault and conspiracy.
Champion Tower noi principal of the 2010 World Series of Poker was attacked at his home in Boucherville December 21 in the morning.
After having beaten and tied up, two individuals would have then stolen a Rolex watch of great value, many 500 euro note, and the champion bracelet he had obtained during his victory in November 2010 .
The police silent
The police de Longueuil, conducting the investigation, flatly refused to comment on the story or even to confirm the arrests, even if the suspects had already appeared in court.
"We can tell you that the investigation is progressing very quickly with infor mation obtained by the public," said only Martin Simard of Longueuil police.
In addition, the police refused to say whether the stolen items were recovered, or even located.
Impossible to know for the moment, if the reward offered by Duhamel, a few days after the flight, would have helped to loosen a few languages. Back in court this morning No plea was recorded, the accused preferred to reserve their choice later. They are currently detained and will undergo their survey released this morning at the Longueuil courthouse.
The court also ordered them not to communicate with each other in any manner whatsoever, nor with Jonathan Duhamel, nor with any other person may have a connection with this case.
√ It is not known if the poker champion knows the three accused persons.
√ The agent and friend of Jonathan Duhamel, Philippe Jetté, declined to comment on the developments yesterday. Shortly after the theft, he said that the attackers apparently knew where to go to steal objects since no tray has been emptied.
He may have another strap
If the police fail to recover stolen her bracelet, Jonathan Duhamel knows that the organization of the World Series of Poker will offer him a new one.
It is a responsibility of the event told the Journal yesterday.
"The tournament director, Mitch Garber, contacted Jonathan after the incident and informed him that the bracelet can be replaced as needed," says Seth Palansky, head of media relations.
Saying "saddened" by the whole thing, he hoped that "the perpetrators will be arrested and the stolen items will be donated to Jonathan."
Unheard of
Palansky says, this is the first time that such incident comes at a champion of the World Series of Poker.
"We never heard any stories like this about other winning players," he said.
He believes that the uniqueness of the subject will find it quickly.
"The bracelet Jonathan is priceless, thanks to its unique character and the fact that his name be engraved. It is easily identifiable, "he said in the email sent to the Journal .
Certainly, "Jonathan Duhamel is one worthy to wear it on his wrist," said Mr. Palansky.
