Going to buy either one to have at the house for drunk fun, which would you suggest?

I have rockband 1 and i thought it was pretty fun. Definitely better than the older guitar hero where you could do just guitar.

Not sure about the new ones though.

Bought rockband 2, second guitar, and the 20 extra songs cd. Pretty fucking fun.

I like the mini notes on the rockband guitar, but the actual feel of the guitar was not as good as the GH one to be honest.

Also I don't like the drums - the GH ones look better to me as the cymbals are elevated.


Dunno though, both are pretty tight games.

GH drums were gay IMO, that was the reason I bought RB

You may be right - I've only played on the RB drums and I kept getting confused because the symbals were level.

If I actually owned the game, I could practice and get better.

Downloaded a bunch of tracks from the marketplace. Gh has like 40 compared to RB's 411.

Also, I am sure these work on both but...fucking sick.

There is no denying that if you can pretty much hit 96% of the drums on that set on expert, you can pretty much play IRL.

If these work on both games, then I'm getting both - fuck it.

I used to be into rhythm games but that was years ago. Went through many nerdy phases... DDR... some drum shit in an arcade... GH1... even tried Rock Band 1... but now I don't get the point. It's the same tired songs I'd rather just LISTEN to and not have to work for it. If I wanted to be making music I'd invest time in that, not hitting some plastic junk.

I see what you are saying, but I'm sure GH has been responsible for getting a lot of people actually wanting to pick up and play the guitar. It teaches you rhythm, which is very very important.


The drums are drums though, if you can play on expect and ace every song, you should be able to play the skins.

I got natural rhythm sucka. I don't neeeeeed no plastic guitar.


The majority of the people that picked up the guitar from GH or RB probably suck at it and gave it up, since they are nothing alike. But I'm sure Gibson doesn't mind the spike in sales.

You actually need rhythm/a little musical talent to play the drums. i dont know how little kids are able to do it.

I have no musical talent at all and only can beat the guitar songs on medium.

I've never tried singing, but that actually looks the easiest.

You need rhythm for the guitar too obv. It's not all offbeat and funky.

I tried singing once and epic failed it for the band. I was doing a song I had never heard and I couldn't read the lyrics well.

Yeah you def have to know the song by heart, or pretty close.

Also i have absolutely no rhythm and can only do up to medium.

I don't "get" people having no rhythm. I have known many people that take hours and hours of playing to get past easy on guitar, which is... sfeasy.
