Disqualification

Every table today is eight-handed except for one; Table 315.

Seat 4 was supposed to be occupied by one Yueqi Zhu, but according the the tournament staff he has been disqualified from the event. They refused to give further comment however.

A few minutes later Jack Effel warned the the rest of the field, telling them that the shootout format will be respected. Players must win all the chips fairly, at the table not off.

"There is no deal making at the World Series of Poker," Effel said sternly.

The field is already down to 63 players, not due to play but rather disqualification.

Weird.

I would normally think this involved sneaking chips onto the table, but it has to do with "deal making".

But wouldn't that mean TWO people should be disqualified?

Maybe this idiot approached someone from his table and tried to make a collusion agreement, and the guy ratted him out.

I also wonder if the guy gets his 64th place money. And if he doesn't, shouldn't it go back into the prize pool?

As we reported earlier, Yueqi Zhu has been disqualified from Event #53. Well, Zhu returned to the Amazon Room moments ago to tell us his side of the story.

According to Zhu, he was heads up last night with about 30,000 chips and his opponent had less than 6,000. Zhu was feeling stomach pains, so he and his opponent decided to make a minor deal. They tried to call the floor four times, but the floor was not around. His opponent then told him he would just fold every hand until the match was over and Zhu agreed.

"It was wrong to win that way," Zhu told us. "Even thought it was a minor deal, I still broke the rules. I want to apologize to the World Series of Poker and to all of the players. This is the first and last time I will make a deal."

What would have hapened if the opponent just got up and left and essentially "blinded-off?" Would that be disqualification as well?

Probably not unless they went to cameras and could pick up their voices.

The dealer could still report what he heard.

Only way to pull this off is to make the deal during the break, and then have the opponent pull a Vinny Vinh and not show up.

so the 2 times ive heard about when actually at the final table, the stud 8 i think 4 handed, and the razz when they were like 7 handed and discussing either a chop or some sort of other deal so they could play the horse, which were being discussed at the final table itself where there was no way the floor could have missed it, no problem with those, but if you make a deal hu in shootout you get dqed? l o fucking l

and really, who cares if they chop or make some sort of save, they're the only 2 left at their table, it doesnt effect anyone else but then
