A case of accidental exposure seems to be making its way around the Amazon Room. In addition to Theo Tran, Todd Witteles has had to serve a one-round penalty for prematurely exposing his hand. There was a raise and a call pre-flop. Witteles was in the small blind and, despite action yet to come behind him and two players in the pot in front of him, Witteles open-folded {6-}{3-}.

yes i can see why the rule is there, but i think it need only be enforced by penalizing the rule breaker if the table wants that done...if no one complains, then can't the table can ask to have the penalty waived??

A penalty like this is probably within the rules, but should be applied only when there an attempt to gain an advantage or to give someone else an advantage. You shouldn't go throwing penalties any time someone inadvertently flashes a hole card.

Tbf if this is how it really went down then the penalty needs to be imposed whether the showing of cards was done accidently or not. Not sure how he can complain but Tristan is indeed an "A-hole". Up to $1 mirrion dolla anyhow, go DD!

Thats way too subjective, if its a likeable player they'd never get penalized, and if it was a dick they'd get a penalty every time, definitely not fair, you expose your hand during play you get a penalty, thats the rule, basically no gray area
