-Dropped my laptop and busted the LCD. It is a Gateway NV52 (I know, sick beat). How hard is it to replace an LCD screen?

I have a Sony Viao with a bad hardrive but has the same size LCD screen, can they be swapped? Or could I take the working harddrive out of my Gateway, and nigger rig it to make my Sony work?

-My third and oldest laptop is an old Dell. Up until a few months ago, it was ok in a pinch just slow. I tried to fire it up yesterday and couldn't view any web pages. Except for gmail, it loved gmail for some reason. If I tried to type in another website, it would say "connecting to donkdown", do nothing, and then reload gmail. Same thing replicated on firefox & ie.

I pinged the DNS Server (I think that's correct), and all 4 were good so I'm definetly getting access to the internet. I ran several anti-virus, spyware, etc and they all came back clean.

Anyway, I'd appreciate any help/suggestions.

Busted screens are more of a tech support issue, Im not much good to you there.

Cant really say for sure why a computer would fixate on Gmail, but if I had to guess, Id say reinstalling the OS was the path of least resistance.

Sounds like your computer had a niggered up version of the go google virus. I've heard of varients sticking to Gmail.

Do you have any AV and will it load, but not let you update it?
