Im coming out to vegas later this month from the east coast and im looking for the best tournaments to play for low bankroll welfare game type of player. Me and my friends play alot in atlantic city and our favorite tournament is the midnight at the Taj Mahal ($65 buy in, 15k starting chips 15min levels). We are looking for a tournament with this type of structure/buyin. Ive been looking online and found alot of tournies with similar buyins but for the most part starting chip amounts are very low (2k-4k). Anybody know of any tournaments like this would be great. Also looking for omaha tournies.

All the tournaments at that buy in range are going to be all in fests by the start of the third hour. The Sahara gives you the most play for that amount, at $42 +$20 you get 4,500 in starting chips with the blinds starting at 25 25 and raising every 20 minutes. It runs at 11am, 7pm, and 11pm 7 days a week.

Caesars and the Venetian also have some really good low buy in tourneys.

Here is a great list of all the tourneys running in Vegas. You should definitely be able to get all the info you need here.

Good luck.

I've done well in the Flamingo tourneys a few times.

I like the little rooms that the serious/good players wouldn't be caught dead in.

Wouldn't the 20$ be a dealer appreciation add-on?

Good point. Won the only ever tournament I played at Imperial Palace. Lowest overall quality of player I've ever encountered in a tourney.

No, the $20 would be dealer appreciation wages.

I think the level of play is probably about the same in all those $60 tournies. I'd just choose the one that is about to start and is close by. If you don't think there are enough chips or whatever, then play another one that day. They're all over the place. There used to be a PLO tourney @ caesar's. The players were probably better PLO players than the holdem players would be in a similar tourney.
