Yesterday we had Melanie Weisner, newly minted Full Tilt red pro on DonkDown Radio.  Be sure to listen to the Callisto5 episode, where we discuss her poker as well as a large range of topics, including manual or machine.  Just listen, Melanie was a great guest, and I feel we should have her read Maven's twitter once an episode.

UB Cheater/Money Launderer Played in 2010 WSOP Main Event facebook E-mail

Here at donkdown, we take pride in constantly keeping UB's feet to the fire, when it comes to the cheating scandal and their subsequent cover-up.  While Russ Hamilton was the ringleader of the cheating scheme, he didn't do it alone.  One of his accomplices was Rebecca Makar, a close associate.  She had superuser accounts in her name and apparently cashed out stolen money.  According to mookman5, a UB victim who has aggressively been pursuing the truth, Makar had the nerve to show her face at the 2010 WSOP Main Event!  Click the link to find out all about it.  Also, read some interesting anecdotes about someone with an in-person experience with this cheater.

2+2 Deleting Useful Content Again - 2+2'er "NewTeaBag" Kills Thai Woman facebook E-mail

I started DonkDown to guarantee that poker players would have a place to say something, even if it was unpopular or damaging to myself or other owners.  This is an important concept to me.  Obviously the is a concept lost on Mason Malmuth.  Mason is lucky he started his poker forum years before anyone else.  He enjoys the largest poker forum community by far.  It is such a shame, because he stifles discussion that users want to discuss.  2+2 has shown the tendancy to lock or delete threads that bring controversy or show poker players in a bad light.  Recently 2+2 user "NewTeaBag" was arrested in Thailand and accused of killing a Thai female.  Details are in the DonkDown thread of course, and like all of our content it won't be deleted.  Bonus for making it to the end of this article:  UB HOES!

Joe "Subiime" Cheong Makes November 9 facebook E-mail

I met Subiime shortly before WSOP 2009.  His talent was immediately evident.  Over the next year or so, he crushed online pokers, running up a decent bankroll and enjoying the success.  I started seeing him at various live tournaments, and there was no doubt in my mind he would end up crushing... although I didn't think it would be this soon.  Joe "Subiime" Cheong has made the November 9 last night.  I watched him from about 200 handed on in, and while he played fantastic I was most impressed with how he handled himself last night when he took (at that time) the sickest beat of the tournament.  (The beat Matt Affleck took was easily the #1 sickest beat of the tournament)  My man stayed calm and collected after a $2M equity beat on a world stage, something I wish I was capable of.  You will all watch it on TV, and he plays the next hand with the same consistency as he had moments before.  Amazing run Joe - thanks for giving DonkDown some hat love until it was financial suicide to continue to do so.  Also big shout to Joe's friends that made for a fantastic drunken rail last night!

Dan Druff Slides into Day 6 of WSOP Main Event facebook E-mail

He's never had a big stack, but lo and behold, Todd "Dan Druff" Witteles keeps surviving at the 2010 WSOP Main Event.  With a few more than 200 left out of 7319 players, Druff sits shortstacked but alive with 380k.  With a peak stack of 525k, he might be the only player left who never broke 600k at any point.  He looks to finally join the big stacks on this critical day, where the final 27 will be revealed.  Rail the action here!
